Esporles: a hiker's heaven

Whatever route you choose, it has its own special appeal, either for its lush woodlands or for the diversity of its scenery —Benigne Palos (1982)—

Esporles

One of Mallorca's finest municipalities for hikers is Esporles. In addition to its ideal setting, with mountains of a considerable height (Sa Fit de Ram is the highest, reaching an altitude of 833 m) mainly covered in woodland, it also features a network of public paths and tracks where hikers can discover the area's heritage and its natural and ethnological treasures. Thanks to the municipality's wide variety of routes, there is something for all levels and ages, from easy strolls to day-long hikes covering big differences in altitude.

Most of the routes start out from the town itself, with circular ones and others that lead to neighbouring villages. Furthermore, the GR-221 dry-stone route, which crosses the whole of the Serra de Tramuntana, also passes through Esporles.

The best way to gain a proper insight into a place is to do it on foot. With this in mind, we suggest a series of hikes to make the most of the area (link).
